2014 Year In Review (The Book Club Edition)

So 2014 was our first full year of reading! So many titles so little time. Here are my top 4 books. Why 4? Originally I was just going to do a top 3 but the December BOTM changed all of that.

The Go Giver
This “Little Story” has a Big Message. You’ve probably heard it a million times. If you want to get you need to give. I think sometimes we get caught up in thinking that giving equates to something monetary, which is really not the case. So what is a go-giver? Click here for more info.

The 5 Love Languages
I have to admit, I read this book over the summer and it was my #1 contender until I read Go Giver. We all have relationships that we would like to improve in some aspect or another. The Five Love Languages shows you HOW to communicate with the people in your life. It’s not what you say or do, but HOW you say or do it. And to know how, you need to know the persons love language – which you learn how to determine. This book made such an impact on me that it was my go to gift this Holiday Season. This Richest Man In Bablyon
I did not know what to expect when I chose this book, but this little book has made such a big impact on my life. I’ve had so many types of budgets – some broken down into spreadsheets with colored codes, reminders etc. But this book fixed all of that. Principles so simple, I doubted they would work for me. But they do! Budget is no longer a chore that I avoid. Told in story from you learn all the basic principles to live a finically sound life. Click here for more info.

The Compound EffectThe Compound Effect By Darren Hardy
Your decisions determine your destiny – You get in life what you create. We all know about how compound interest applies in regards to finances, but that principle also applies to our life and it’s called The Compound Effect. Where you are at right now in your life is based on the choices you made. Every time you choose to do something or NOT to do something, it all adds up in the end. Click here for more info.
