The 52 Books In 52 Weeks Challenge

Hey Readers!

As you many of you know (if you follow me on Instagram) I have committed to reading 52 books in 52 weeks. That basically means that I will be reading one book each week in 2015. No I’m not crazy! Yes it’s possible!

I have always been an avid reader. In the 3rd grade I was reading on a college level. Throughout junior high and high school I belonged to every book club available (remember those double day book clubsJ) When I moved out of my mom’s house at 23, I left crates of books.

But then something happened, slowly I stopped reading. Each month I read less and less, until eventually there were times where I hadn’t even read a book that entire year. I don’t know if it was because I had other things going on such as living in the city and a more active social life, but besides going to the theatre, I really can’t that there was a single or specific thing that took the place of my love for reading.

It wasn’t until I became a Health & Fitness Coach in 2010 that I was re-introduced to reading through the form of personal development. Now I am in the process of re-organizing my office so that I can add more bookcases to hold my ever growing collection. And I have decided that I will have a dedicated reading room/library in my future home.

I stumbled across the #52Bookchallenge on Instagram and knew immediately I would participate. How did I not know about this before?

So being the planner that I am, I have spent the past month or so listing, categorizing and mapping out the 52 books I will read next year. Some will be physical books some will be audio books (I can’t do kindle sorry). Each month I will read 2 books that will cover a specific category/topic that I need to work on, 1 spiritual based book and one book on finances. If there are 5 weeks in the month the 5th book will be health related.

I’m inviting you to join me on this journey, it’s totally optional. Of course if you decide to join you don’t have to plan out your year, you don’t have to read what I’m reading, and you don’t have to read personal development – just read. If you do want to join here are some guidelines:

I will still be sending out the BOTM each month, in fact the BOTM is incorporated into my challenge schedule and at the bottom of each month’s newsletter there will be a link to what I will be reading that month for the 52 Books Challange.

Be sure to follow me on instagram for updates on this series, I will be posting pics of all the books I read, and if you decide to join use the hashtag #AZBC52Books2015  so I can find your photos and show some love!
