How I Keep My Body In An Alkaline PH State

When I first started in the Health & Wellness field, about five years ago, I read something along the lines of “disease cannot live in an alkaline state”. Since then I have consciously tried to make sure the foods and beverages that I consume help my body to stay in balance.

1. Drink Lemon Water DAILY
Studies show that its best to drink a glass of lemon water as your first beverage after waking up. I actually keep a slice of lemon water in my water bottle and sip on it all day.

Also: I sometimes alternate and drink Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar + 1 Tbsp. of Raw Honey in the morning (or throughout the day). Apple Cider Vinegar also helps keep your body’s PH level in balance among other things.

2. Eat or Drink Dark Leafy Greens Daily
Eating greens has never been an issue for me, spinach is my favorite vegetable. Every day I try to incorporate some type of “dark leafy green” into my diet, whether it is by smoothie, juice or salad.

3. Stay Away from Soft Drinks & Sugary Juices
I rarely drink soda or juices. My refrigerator has three beverages that are in constant rotation: Water, Green or White Tea and Coconut Water. Occasionally I will juice some cranberries and keep a small carafe of cranberry juice – but only once in a while. But seriously I can count on my hands how many times I drink soda in a year.

4. Know Your Numbers
As conscious as I am about what I eat, I just recently started testing my ph level on a regular basis to see where my body is on the PH scale. I ordered these PH Strips from Amazon and I am glad to say my body is NOT ACIDIC 

Knowing your numbers (bmi, bmr, ph etc) is a vital part of your health and fitness journey. So I challenge you to get some PH Strips, test yourself, and based on your results and make a plan of action to get your body in balance!
