No matter which weight-loss route you choose, it’s important to keep some practical dieting tips in mind.
These four tips are basic things that everyone should be doing in order to lose weight, or maintain their weight. Put these tips into use in you’ll see even better results with the program you are using 🙂
1. Drink Water
• Our bodies are made up of 60-70% water, so it makes sense that we should “refill” throughout the day. Don’t think that you’re just adding a lot of water weight either — that’s not how it works!
• In order to figure out how much water we should drink you need to divide your weight in half. This number is the number of ounces that you should drink each day.
• This will help you digest your food better, and it will help you to eat less. Often times when we think we are hungry we are actually thirsty!
• If you increase your water intake, you should notice that the pounds start to fall off faster than you ever thought possible.
2. Meal Prep
• Most people eat three meals a day, with random snacks. This is actually not the best way to lose weight or maintain a lower weight.
• It is much better to eat around six smaller meals per day. Your body can only handle but so many calories in one sitting; your body can handle smaller meals more easily. This helps with your digestion and helps increase your metabolism.
• Eating smaller meals multiple times a day, will also give you a lot of energy. That means you will not be tempted to go grab some candy or cup of coffee to keep going. That alone will save you tons of calories!
3. Eat Breakfast
• It is very important that you make sure you eat breakfast. Many dieters think that if they skip breakfast they will lose a lot more weight. The opposite is actually true.
• Studies show that those who do not eat breakfast tend to be heavier than those who do. Researchers have found that eating breakfast within an hour of getting up in the morning properly sets your energy levels for the day.
• If you skip breakfast, you’ll become a lot hungrier throughout the day and be tempted to snack. We all know this leads to more weight gain!
4. Don’t Eat Late At Night
• Just like you should always eat breakfast, you should never eat late at night. Eating late at night is not a good idea because you are sedentary.
• The calories do not have a chance to burn off, and your digestive system slows down. This results in excess weight gain.
• A good rule of thumb is to eat your last meal at least three hours before your bedtime.
Of course, losing weight and maintaining your weight loss requires more than these simple tips, it requires will power and motivation. What is really comes down to is mind over matter.
