Hey, y’all, it’s your girl here, and let me tell you about the second birthday dinner that went down at Joya Thai Restaurant in Brooklyn. Can we just pause for a second to appreciate the fact that we’re out here celebrating life like grown-ups? I mean, I still can’t believe I’m a year older, but hey, that just means I’m a year wiser, right?
So, who showed up to the shindig? Just the Supreme. Supremem has been taking me to brunch. lunch or dinner for my birthday for at least 20 years. We missed the past few years (my schedule) but this year he was persistent, We set a date and time and then we were ready to hit up Joya Thai Restaurant.
Now, before we even got to Joya, I decided to do a little window shopping because, let’s be real, shopping makes everything better. Brooklyn’s got those streets lined with stores that just call your name. I strolled around, checking out the scene, and low-key burning some calories before stuffing my face.
And then, it was time for the main event – Joya Thai Restaurant. Y’all, let me keep it real with you for a sec. I went back and forth between Joya or Lemongrass but Lemongrass was busy. And also my first visit to Joya was a mixed bag, so I walked in with a tiny bit of skepticism. But let me tell you, I am so happy I came because Joya was about to show out.
Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: Spicy Chicken and Pineapple Fried Rice. I can’t even describe to you how amazing this dish was. The flavors were straight-up dancing in my mouth like it was a party in Flavor Town. And I’m not even exaggerating when I say that it was SOOOOOOO good. Like, where have you been all my life, fried rice?
And hold up, let’s not forget about the drinks. I went for a Lychee Martini, but can we talk about traditional martini glasses for a second? I mean, who decided that was a good idea? Maybe it’s the bartender in me, but those glasses are practically begging for spills. Can we get some practical glassware up in here, people?
Dessert? Decided to pass this time. And we were gonna hit up Rogers Garden and a few other sweet spots so we decided to pass on dessert at Joya.
And speaking of joy(a), let’s talk about the overall experience. I gotta say, giving Joya a second chance was the best decision ever. My meal was off-the-charts fantastic. Like, I was contemplating whether I should take try to recreate that magic at home. Because let’s be real, I don’t find myself in Brooklyn as often these days, but a taste like that? It’s worth the trip.
So, there you have it, fam. Birthday dinner round two was a legit success at Joya Thai Restaurant. Good food, good vibes, and good company – what more could a girl ask for? Until next time, keep living your best life and embracing those flavors that make your heart do a little dance.
Stay supreme, y’all! ✨🍍🎉
